"My family has been ordering from Genevieve's for decades. It is the best chocolate. This year I sent in an order by fax. One of the items was not available. After trying to contact me and failing the good folks at Genevieve's made a substitution. They included a note in the box explaining the substitution and hoped it met with my approval. It was so thoughtful and I am so pleased with the level of service I have received. I wish everyone at Genevieve's the best and hope they are in business for decades more."

"Growing up in town this place is a staple for delicious homemade chocolate. Valentine's they gave fresh chocolate covered strawberries and Easter tons of bunny and chick shaped chocolates as well as filled eggs. They offer sugar-free versions of some of the chocolates. Truffles, chocolate and nut, and chocolate jellies by the pound. This place once had a full stock of teddy bears, stuffed animals, and gift cards although over the years as shopping turned online and more use of e-Cards those shelves emptied a bit. Still the chocolate is what keeps people coming back for more. Worth a try."

"This place has some delicious homemade chocolate. A must try here is their chocolate covered strawberries, I promise you will not be disappointed. I am just not sure if they have them all year round so I would call first. Prices are comparable to other places I have checked out. The staff is very personable. They do not have a parking lot but street parking is easy to find."

"This was our first time coming for our daughter's chocolate Easter bunny. They had a huge selection of chocolate bunnies with different designs and even crosses for the more religious and a lot of add-ons for Easter, such as Easter chocolate balls, Easter lollipops. They wrapped the chocolate very nicely where I don't have to re-wrap which is a major plus. We will be shopping here more often. This is without a doubt a hidden gem that I am glad I found (:"

"Literally the best chocolate I have ever had. Old world style, homemade, exceptional perfection... it's indescribable. The biggest drawback is that I've never been able to enjoy big brand chocolate having grown up on Genevieve's chocolate for every holiday.
At Easter, they have a wall of chocolate bunnies in all different shapes and sizes.
Get the assorted meltaways box!! You can smell all the different flavors. Raspberry, mint, hazelnut, double chocolate... Divine."

"Me and my whole family love coming here. My mom and her family have grown up coming here since they were kids and lived in the area. Now I come here for candy, especially around Easter. They have candy and chocolate that is different from every other place. Amazing! Their place is quiet and clean. The staff is all very warm and helpful. I don't what other great things I can say about this! I plan to take my kids here one day and keep the tradition going.

"... Well, let me say Genevieve's is a special place. I just got a box of their candy for Valentine's Day and ... wow. Their chocolate is truly outstanding. Sweet but subtle, great mouth feel, no aftertaste that's common with so much manufactured chocolate (and even some homemade chocolates). The taste of Genevieve's chocolate changes as you chew or even hold it in your mouth. It's quite an experience.
Really, it can't compare to any candy I've had in recent memory...
Honestly, I'm surprised I hadn't heard of them until today. They're so damn good!"

"I drove all the way out to Genevieve's in New Jersey from Long Island, NY simply because I heard that they were the best in the game! And guess what? They are absolutely incredible. Chocolate is made on prem and is so good. The chocolate covered strawberries made on Easter and Valentines Day are the best I have ever had (even better than Godiva and that says a TON.) The service was great; there were older ladies working the counter who were super sweet and nice. GREAT PLACE I RECOMMEND."

Genevieve's is one of those great local neighborhood places that has been around forever......and for good reason, their chocolates are outstanding. If you're a chocoholic, you'll love this little place!
They have just about everything you would want covered in chocolate......pretzels, marshmallows, fruits, nuts, twinkies, even espresso beans!
Be prepared to spend some serious coin in this place as it's on the pricey side. But like I always say, the finer things in life ain't cheap."

"This is my childhood stomping ground for all things chocolate. It was here that I became a fan of white chocolate, the elusive and often hard to perfect, less popular shade in the chocolate family. I never understood when everyone cringed when I said I loved white chocolate until I tasted other brands' versions...ick! What can I say, I've been completely spoiled by the homemade chocolate treats that I make the journey back (to my childhood neighborhood) to every Easter.
When you walk into this tiny, unassuming shop, you're immediately intoxicated by the delicious aroma of chocolate. It's a tiny family run store that has shelves lined up with delectable chocolate creations in the shapes of bunnies, kitties, and elaborate Easter sculptures; all crafted with love and chocolate goodness. My favorite treats include the dark or milk chocolate covered crackers, the dark chocolate covered Oreos, the solid eggs and bunnies, as well as the coconut eggs. You really can't go wrong with whatever you get. The jellybeans are also the best I have ever tasted.
I simply love this place. It's a small town treasure that will always be a must for my annual Easter shopping. You haven't experienced chocolate decadence until you've tasted Genevieve's chocolate. Enjoy!"

"My aunt has been buying chocolates for my wife for as long as I can remember. She always purchased a 2 lb box of mixed milk and dark chocolate and the box contained mix fruits, nuts and jellies. It was always a hit for my wife. Unfortunately, my aunt passed away and I had to carry on the tradition of a 2 lb box from Genevieve's. So I went there today and picked up some of their fine chocolates for Christmas. I usually bought Godiva for her but she always said that Genevieve's chocolates were better. Check this place out. They are that good!"

"My wife brings me home their butter nut crunch toffee as a special treat. She and the kids love the haystacks and the Jordan crackers also get rave reviews. The dark chocolate almond bark is another favorite. They also make chocolate covered strawberries (better than any others we have tasted!) for Valentine's Day and Mother's Day."

"I noticed a review for Genevieve's while browsing my "nearby Yelp feed", and I am glad I did.
I had never been to this section of Garfield. The store is located in a mostly residential area of Garfield. I came here to pick up some chocolates for Valentine's Day. The store was pretty busy but they kept the line moving along.
The chocolate covered strawberries were a big hit. The wife loved them. They had a thick coating of very nice tasting milk chocolate on them. I loved the chocolate covered Oreos. Great tasting and they were nicely decorated. They had a nice selection of chocolates and other sweets.
Definitely a great local business to support!"
